Why Blunt?
As a developer, have you ever needed a tool to do a simple job? Just that one little thing that you needed to accomplish? You know there's something out there, but instead you end up installing some huge framework just to use one little feature? Or, perhaps like me you just build that tool yourself?
Have you ever wished that there was something easy. You've taken the time to learn that server side language, whatever it may be, you know how to design and build databases, you've taken the time to learn JavaScript, you know (X)HTML and CSS like the back of your hand. Why should you have to learn some new, complex system to do the things that you want to do, like so many of these frameworks require. While they may have started out being written in a language, they no longer resemble that language, requiring you to learn many new function names or even a completely different syntax.
Or perhaps you are someone that is not an expert and you need a good starting place, some tool that is easy to implement and simple to understand. A few functions to call and Wah-Lah, you're in business.
If any of this describes you then you've come to the right place. I believe that Web tools and applications should do the job they were meant to do, no more and no less. In this place I will be offering just such tools and application. Currently the list is small, but the plan is to grow this list significantly, offering both free tools as well as those for sale.
For more information on what we believe a simple web application or tool should do, please see The Blunt Web Apps Requirements page for my guidelines on what a Blunt Web App is.
If you are or like mind then perhaps you would like to contribute to this project/concept. See the Submission Guidelines.
